This Privacy Policy describes how phone number and message data are handled in connection with the personal SMS automation platform operated by Scott Semple via Twilio. It applies only to this SMS service, not to scottsemple.com generally.
2. What Data Is Collected
- Phone number: the mobile number this service sends messages to and receives messages from.
- Message content: the text content of messages sent and received, as needed to operate the platform (e.g., relaying notifications or commands).
No other personal information is collected through this service.
3. How Data Is Used
Phone number and message data are used solely to operate this automation platform — to deliver notifications and to relay commands to my own systems. Message content may be processed by automated software to interpret and act on commands; no message content is used for any purpose beyond operating this platform.
Mobile opt-in data and phone numbers are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
4. Third-Party Processing
Messages are transmitted using Twilio Inc. as the messaging infrastructure provider. Twilio processes message data as a service provider under its own privacy policy (https://www.twilio.com/legal/privacy). Message content and metadata may also pass through your mobile carrier's network as part of standard SMS delivery.
5. Data Retention
Message logs are retained only as long as necessary to operate and troubleshoot the platform, and are deleted or rotated periodically. No persistent marketing list or subscriber database is maintained from this service.
6. Your Choices
- Reply STOP to any message from this number to stop receiving messages.
- Reply HELP for help.
- Contact privacy@scottsemple.com to request that your number and message history be deleted from any logs retained.
7. Children's Privacy
This service is not directed to, and does not knowingly collect data from, anyone under 18.
8. Changes to This Policy
I may update this Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
